Dear Thay,

A little more than eight years ago, perhaps ten, I drove up to Dublin mountains every other evening after work and parked at the edge of the steep cliff. I would roll and smoke joint after joint and cry and cry and cry. I would drive my car to the edge of the precipice and try to summon up the courage to drive it over and to end my life there. It was such a beautiful place. Mountains on both sides rolling down to a beautiful green valley with a lovely river running through it. A beautiful place to die, but I couldn’t do it. I would cry most of the way home and just go to bed. (more…)

I normally keep it to myself how profoundly I’ve been wounded in my childhood, as it is a place where I haven’t been able to find enough love and compassion. Now I’m hoping I can bring it there myself, and I’m hoping I can be able to tolerate to send love to myself and I can truly accept myself…
