Beautiful and uplifting on Monday morning

The Lena Jácome Weblog

Believe in yourself –
in the power you have
to control your own life, day by day,
Believe in the strength
that you have deep inside,
and your faith will help
show you the way.
Believe in tomorrow
and what it will bring –
let a hopeful heart carry you through,
For the things will work out
if you trust and believe
there’s no limit
to what you can do.

Exciting travel for bears to this inspiring island full of diversity and beauty from countryside to coastline. They’ve met plenty of animals and submerged themselves in amazing nature with all its beaches, forests and downland…

I am a part of all that I have met;
Yet all experience is an arch wherethro’
Gleams that untravell’d world whose margin fades
For ever and forever when I move.

I hold my face in my two hands.

No, I am not crying.

I hold my face in my two hands,

in order to keep my loneliness warm.

Two hands to nourish

Two hands to protect.

Two hands to prevent my soul

from leaving me in anger.

Today, I choose to be kind. Kindness is like a boomerang, it always returns.

Today, I give a stranger one of my smiles.  It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.’

Puerto Mogan and its surroundings

This beautiful canarian village has become my home for a while. The amazing views and quiet settings of La Venecia de Canarias has given me a real boost of energy during this never-ending winter. Avoiding high season I managed to get the most of this wonderful island, including lonely walks on the hills and cliffs and meditation in the heart of nature. I could fully enjoy the present moment with fantastic scenery, great local produce and friendly locals…let’s say it clearly, the biggest problem I could have was the sand in my hairs!

The journey starts for me in Maspalomas, on the south coast of Gran Canaria. I leave beautiful Dunas and take a bus to San Bartolome’ de Tirajana. From there it’s about 15km of amazing mountain walk towards La Cumbre to reach the highest peak of the island – Roque Nublo 1949m…and make it on time for the last bus back!
